Excavations of Truth
In a world increasingly saturated with images, this programme lingers in the shadows of construction sites, family memories, public archives, and social media timelines. Each film in Excavations of Truth approaches the act of looking as a kind of digging—a slow, deliberate search for what lies beneath surfaces. From the public stage of urban development to the intimate spaces of family lore and contested images of war, these works reflect on how photographs and places carry stories, traumas, and conspiracies that outlive their moment.
The session will feature a Q&A with xxx, chaired by festival programmer Matthew Barrington.
